Western Duluth Little League

Mission

Our mission is to provide a positive introductory baseball experience for the youth of western Duluth. In addition to strong baseball fundamentals, players are taught important life skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship. The goal of our program is to prepare players for more advanced levels at Duluth 709 Baseball and at the high school level.

About Us

Western Duluth Little League was founded in 1961 and is currently the oldest Little League Baseball organization still in operation in northern Minnesota.

Since 2019, we have served players ages 4-9 who live in the western neighborhoods of Duluth. We register well over 100 players per year across three divisions tailored to their age and skill levels.

League teams at the Minor level (generally ages 7-8) participate in the Quad Cities League, which now includes teams from 14 other associations in our area. Teams at the Intro and Tee Ball levels (generally ages 4-7) play an in-house schedule against other Western teams. All teams play their home games at our Western fields behind Wade Stadium.

Coaches

Western coaches are registered and provided training in accordance with Little League's Child Protection Program.

The experience of our coaches varies from brand new to baseball to coaches who have been involved for a lifetime. We encourage our coaches to share their experience and resources, be mentors to one another, and share guidance and support.
